Ashley started playing golf at the age of 12 and by the time he was 16 was playing off scratch.

As an amateur he represented his county over 80 times where he played at boys, colts and men’s level.

Ashley has won several tournaments as an amateur, including the Essex Bowl, and Essex Colts Championship titles along with the Essex order of merit.
He also captained Essex to the South of Engalnd league title in 2007.

Since turning pro, Ashley has mainly been playing on the Jamega Tour where he has achieved several top 5 finishes including a 3rd place finish in the Wharton Park Classic.

Ashley is also an Essex County coach and is part of the cap program designed to sift out the best players in the county and put them forward for full Essex training.

Ashley says “As well as carrying on my golfing playing career I now look forward to helping others by teaching at Crowlands Heath.”
